Sandy Carter - Mother of Tonya & Brittany/Front Desk Assistant

Sandy has over 30 years of dancing and teaching behind her and currently works as a Sales Representative during the day at the Kentucky Lottery.  Sandy was a former Patsy Bloor dancer and spent many years with the USO entertaining troops.  She is delighted to see her daughters, Tonya & Brittany’s accomplishments and enjoys helping them by assisting at the front desk.  Sandy has 4 beautiful grandchildren and resides in Louisville, KY with her husband.

Dominique Lyons - Instructor/Choreographer

Dominique has 16 years of experience in many forms of dance, including jazz, lyrical/contemporary, modern, musical theatre, ballet and tap.

Originally from Louisville, Dominique has danced with Dale Meyer School of Dance/360 Dance, the Louisville Ballet School and currently is active in the University of Louisville Dance Academy.  She is currently a junior at the University of Louisville, staying busy with dance classes by day and teaching at night.

Dominique has years of experience teaching and is very excited to bring her youthful vibe to Dreamz Dance Company.  She loves performing all forms of dance, but finds her true passion in teaching others to enjoy the art.

Katie Eklund - Instructor/Choreographer

Katie has over 15 years dance experience and is currently a Ladybird at the University of Louisville.  Prior to Ladybirds she was on the Western Kentucky Dance Team. 

Katie has danced with Ellens School of Dance, 360 Dance and also taught at Dynamic Dance in Bowling Green, Kentucky being accredited with awards in her hip hop dances such as first overall and the WOW Choreography award.  She danced on the 2007 UDA National Champion 360 Dance Force All Star Team and then won second at the worlds that same year. 

Katie has been taking classes at the Edge and Millineum in LA, as well as Broadway Dance Center in New York.  She is up on all the latest styles and is very excited to be teaching at Dreamz Dance Company!


Terry Rapier-Ballroom Instructor/Choreographer

Terry has over 34 years of ballroom teaching experience.  Terry's father was a competition dancer so Terry started his dance career early in life.  Terry has taught at some of the most prestigious studios in the U.S. from Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire to some of the best independent dance studios.  Terry is excited about passing on his knowledge and experience to those who truly love dance.

Elle Smith - Instructor/Choreographer

Elle has 7 years dance experience and is currently a University of Louisville Ladybird . Elle has danced for 360 Dance, Barret Traditional Middle School , and the 2009 State Grand Champion  Sacred Heart Academy Dance Team. She has been on winning all-star teams at 360 that have gone to the World Championships. Elle has taught at 360 as an assistant instructor as well as an instructor at Dreamz. Elle's favorite styles are Hip-hop and contemporary jazz. She recently was asked to assist L.A. choreographer Leslie Scott as she taught master classes at UDA Dance camps. Elle is a freshman at the University of Louisville and is very excited to further her dance career by working at Dreamz and all of the great talent that will come this year!!!! ; )

Madison McCormick - Instructor/Choreographer

Madison has been dancing for 15 years. She has danced for three studios, including Dreamz. She has been a Radio Disney Dancer and has danced on countless studio teams, winning many competitions and going to Worlds. She was also on Sacred Heart Academy 's state winning high school team for four years. Currently, she is a Ladybird at the University of Louisville and an engineering student. She had taken various styles of dance including jazz, ballet, tap, technique, hip hop, lyrical and modern. Dance is Madison 's passion and she plans to dance for the rest of her life!  She is excited to join the Dreamz staff!

Ben Needham-Wood- Ballet & Hip Hop Instructor

Originally from Massachusetts, Ben moved to Louisville last year to join the Louisville Ballet Company, where he is currently employed. He received his early training from such companies as Dance Prism, St. Paul’s School Ballet Company, Boston Ballet, and the American Ballet Theater, and, in addition to the Louisville Ballet, has performed professionally with Dance China New York, Dance Prism, Dayton Ballet, and the Marion Ballet Theater. Since his schooling, Ben has studied several dance forms including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop, and acrobatics, to name a few. Recently Ben competed in the 10th New York International Ballet Competition where he performed in the Gala, receiving a favorable review from the New York Times. Ben is also currently a full time student at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, where he will be earning a BFA in Ballet at the end of this year. Ben is proud to be joining the Dreamz dance family this year.

 


Elizabeth Vorholt - Assistant 
Elizabeth has 12 years of dance experience in jazz, lyrical/contemporary, tap, ballet, hip hop, and musical theatre. She is currently a senior at Sacred Heart Academy, where she is a member of the 2009 State Grand Champion dance team. Teaching has invigorated Elizabeth's love of dance, and she is constantly inspired by watching others. She is honored to join such a talented staff and to be able to work with such passionate dancers.

 

Kelsi Craine - Ballet Instructor 
Kelsi is originally from Fort Smith, Arkansas and has over 10 years of dance experience.  She is currently attending Sullivan University and  will be majoring in Early Childhood Education.  Kelsi studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern and pointe at Fort Smith School of Ballet in Arkansas for 10 years.  She also attended Tulsa Ballets’ Summer Camp Pointe to the Future in 2002 and Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago in 2007 where she studied under Joe Tremaine, Randy Duncan, Nan Giordano, and Liz Imperio.  Kelsi is very passionate about dance and is super excited about joining the Dreamz family!!

Kathleen Guerrero-Instructor
Kathleen has been dancing for 15 years. She has danced for 4 different studios, including Dremz Dance Company. She has competed on numerous competitive teams. Kathleen was also a member of the Sacred Heart Academy Dance Team, where they won their first state title and were nationally ranked. She is excited to be working at Dreamz and cannot wait to see all of the new talent she will be privileged to work with!
